It is that time of the year for local farmer’s markets! Farmer’s markets are a great place to get locally grown produce and goods at a reasonable price while supporting the local economy. Usually the produce at farmer’s markets taste better as they are picked at the peak ripeness and transported fewer miles than produce purchased in a grocery store. Most Americans are not consuming enough fruits and vegetables and this is great way to get them in. Remember the goal is 5 servings of fruits/vegetables per day!
